weekend links

william is so close to being able to sit. milestones happen so fast at this stage and i have a love/hate relationship with it. the older boys got to do a carwash the other day while i got dinner ready. micah’s been asking to do it again every day since.

now for some weekend reading!

The world has enough women who know how to do their hair. It needs women who know how to do hard and holy things. The world has enough women who live a masked insecurity. It needs more women who live a brave vulnerability. This is such a good reminder for me.

i’ve been looking for new dining room chairs for.ever. and either they’re too expensive or jerry doesn’t like them. i’m looking at these currently after inspiration from the faux martha (it was in her insta stories.)

i’m pretty sure this was jerry the first time he had bacon.

i am totally disgusted that a hotel in PA would be an epicenter for human trafficking and that no one spoke up about it.

i seriously was crying from laughing so hard at this one.

i love this madewell tee.

also, why is it so hard to find a red swimsuit that isn’t baywatch or wildly immodest?! maybe this one or this one. i’m a little nervous about the sizing, but since they’re free returns, i have nothing to lose.

have a great weekend!

the boys reading books to william the other morning while i got ready. they’re such good big brothers, entertaining him so i can at least get dressed. and maybe even put on some makeup.

i shared on my instagram that i’m joining Julie from SoCanary on her #wholecanary. i’m giving up sugar, sticking to three meals a day (it will help me keep from emotional eating), planning out the night before what i’m eating (again, to keep from emotional eating, but also, making sure i’m eating a balanced diet) and limiting my flours to only 100% whole grains (and even that limited). i log my food on myfitnesspal.

i ordered these earrings the other day and they should be arriving today. just in time for a date!

this kid on ellen was so cute.

recovering from perfect mom syndrome.

being a n’sync fan growing up, and a current justin timberlake fan, i loved this commercial.

scientists discover why you hate the sound of loud chewing. guilty.

have a great weekend!

Processed with VSCO with t1 preseti love this little guy so much. he brings so much joy in to my life. i can’t believe he’ll be four months on sunday already!

what are you all up to this weekend? we’ve got some house projects to work on, like oil changes for the car, getting on my hands and knees and scrubbing the floor in the living room, dining room and kitchen, and maybe a few other things before the big steeler’s game sunday night.

twenty-one books from the last five years every woman should read. i won’t be reading all of these, but i did add a few to my library list. i’ve already read “the immortal life of henrietta lacks”. such a fascinating read! (also, does it make me shallow/trendy to want to read “wild” just because it was mentioned in the gilmore girls revival?! *don’t answer that*)

i was just thinking about getting our sophie the giraffe out for william, but now i’m having second thoughts. but more importantly, i’m kind of amazed by the pediatrician’s response that it’s not harmful.

i had so many of these same feelings when we found out about our (surprise) pregnancy with william. (but now?! i can’t imagine my life/our family without him! god is so much wiser!)

the most popular netflix shows in each state. i’m ashamed to say that for pennsylvania, it’s “shameless”.

the power of words. and excellent devotional from paul tripp. something i’ve been convicted of this week.

it’s time to end the bachelor. for reals.

have a great weekend!
