oh this baby. he holds so much space in my heart. what joy he brings to our home. he’s much more of a baby/toddler than a newborn/infant these days. loves to eat (if you couldn’t tell lol). he gets little bits of what we’re eating. we totally skipped the pureed phase and waiting to introduce just small bits till about seven months or so. i have to say, it has been a lot easier doing it this way than with starting purees, like we did with micah and ethan. but that could also just be his disposition.

speaking of disposition, he has the sweetest. especially if you consider that he has eight teeth already! he started army crawling about a month ago and he’s been trying really hard this week to get up on his knees. but he’s got a lot to lift, so we’re giving him a break 😉 he also figured out yesterday how to get up to a sitting position on his own.

because he’s getting more mobile and older, he’s really loving playing and interacting with his brothers. it’s really sweet to watch their friendship evolve and makes all those sleepless nights almost worth it. i kid, i kid. and i do believe he inherited my curly hair!

we love you so much, william!

Where they are now

Ethan Maxwell :: 2.5 years old

This kid. Let me tell you. He sure knows how to do two. One minute he’s being all sweet and giving you kisses, telling you he loves you. And then the next minute his face changes. It becomes serious. He starts to growl and furrows his brow. He stomps his feet, swings his arms and slowly charges after you. Most of the time he’s being playful and just wants to wrestle with you. But sometimes, he’s hurt or offended and will actually swing punches or kicks. He’s very different from Micah at two. Ethan is very independent and determined, mostly thanks to having a big brother to look up to, I imagine. He is also fueled to do stuff, sometimes, by the fact that he’s just not allowed to do it (as pictured above). He very much dotes on his big brother still and daddy is still the favorite. Also following in his brother’s footsteps is his love of trucks. He will often hear a truck coming down the street and will run to the door to see it drive past.

Micah Alan :: 4.5 years

Pictured here with one of two of his latest obsessions, the other being legos. Micah loves breakfast. But I think he might love legos more. Not much keeps Micah from breakfast, but legos sure can! He’s really good at creating things from his imagination as opposed to using the directions. He’s not so much my baby anymore. He continues to have a very tender and sensitive disposition unlike his rough and tough brother. That difference in personality is probably the source of most of their disagreements. He’s mastering riding his bike and looking forward to preschool in the fall.

william alexander at six months

how are you already six months old (it was really last week)?! it’s really unfair.

at six months, william has two on the bottom and is cutting at least one on top. oh, and i gave him strep throat. sigh… i would have never known had it not been for his doctor testing a rash behind his knees. poor kid. despite all of that, he continues to be a pleasant baby for the most part. he has been a little more clingy, but that’s totally forgivable.

he loves to jump in his johnny jumper, or will even jump in your hands. he also loves his brothers and watches them very intently. he’s not crawling yet, but will push on his toes when on his belly. he remains to be my best sleeper and yet also my fattest. i affectionately call him sir chunks a-lot.

we all love him very much and look forward to when he wakes up.
