We were super busy Saturday. So we fueled up with some Annie’s cinnamon rolls, eggs and bacon and were on our way.
First stop, Point State Park to join Jerry’s office in a walk for ALS. This was Micah’s first time seeing the fountain and of course he loved it. We were bad parents and forgot sunscreen, and Ethan was beyond tired at this point, so as soon as the walk was over, we left. Besides, we had to get back for lunch and then we were off again.
To Kennywood! Our first time. We did all the iconic things like get our picture taken with Cowboy Sam, eat potato patch fries (YUM!) and ride as many rides as we could in 5 hours. Well, as many as you can, when one of the rides you’re in line for has someone throw up on it (YUCK!) and then the Phantom being down for half the afternoon for repairs. But all was good because we were there with good friends who made all the waiting enjoyable. And then we stopped on our way home for ice cream at our favorite spot, Handels, and I got one of the best ice cream flavors ever. Midnight madness: dark chocolate ice cream, peanut butter ripple with crushed peanut butter oreos. (YUM!)
It was so nice to get an afternoon away, and can’t wait to go out wit that guy again.
